About Dr. Shawn Barillaro, OD
Dr. Shawn Barillaro was born and raised in Meriden, Connecticut. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Connecticut before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston.
His clinical training encompassed geriatrics, ocular disease, low vision, and primary care. He then completed a one-year residency in ocular disease at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, which included advanced clinical experience in retina and glaucoma care. A personal family connection to low vision has shaped his commitment to thorough, compassionate eye disease monitoring and management.
His clinical interests include ocular disease management, retina and glaucoma care, and persistent dry eye. Outside of the office, Dr. Barillaro enjoys the beach, roller skating, games, and caring for reptiles.
